Classical Councillors face the music.
It was a cheery delight to read that the Brightcecilia Classical Music Forum has begun a Glum Classical Musicians strand. I wonder are there any images that combine miserable elected officials and serious music? Ooooh yes yes yes.
Above we see the innauguaral recital featuring a new Bosendorfer piano bought for the the Town House, Inverness. Provost William Smith said “We are delighted with the new piano and very pleased that the Inverness Chamber Music Society has agreed that the piano will remain in the Town House.” Delight and pleasure cleary evident on the beaming face of the perky provost.
On a lighter note below we see Three Rivers District Councillor David Major coyly grinning through a clinch with celebrated organist Len Rawle. Councillor Major hosted a charity evening which held the audience aghast at Len Rawle’s amazing dexterity on his swelling organ and someting called a Rutt Pipe (!) With a cheeky grin Cllr David Major, enigmatically said: “This was an unusual and joyful event. Organs have been a large part of my own career.”
