Cllr Rupert Perry sulking round the back of the bins
I am reliably informed that Cllr Rupert Perry, of Islington’s Caledonian Ward, is normally a happy cheery type. However this image shows Cllr Rupert skulking sulking round the back of the bins. It appears that the “poorly designed storage areas are too small to accommodate the “Euro” bins lodged in them” Cllr Rupert demonstrates great empathy and is consoling the large bin which has a house too small for its growing family - forcing it out into the rain.
Cllr Rupert’s blog also reminds us of happier, earlier times in Caledonian Ward, the picture below does not as you might anticipate show a family being evicted with all their possesions savagely dumped on the roadside. It is, in fact a local clear-up campaign involving councillors and local residents. Good to see such positive community action is celebrated with unbounded joy evident on each smiling face.
