Cllr Nick the nit-picker
How glorious to an be elected representative in one of the most beautiful spots in the UK: the Ward of Bathwick is just across the river Avon close to the centre of the handsome city of Bath. Cllr Nick Coombes is a cultured man qualified in architecture and a Grade 8 classical pianist; the Bath Chronicle named him as ‘politician of the year’ in their inaugural local honours.
Yet none of this seems to make Cllr Nick a happy man. Looking at his blog it seems he spends his time remorselessly cataloguing- in exhaustive detail - evey minor ailment of his beautiful locality: Cllr Nick has concerns about Parking; Parking Tickets; litter bins; graffiti; bus routes; fences; potholes (obviously!); zebra crossings and even the correct width a of local footpath. It appears no element of civic life goes un-moaned about by Cllr Nick.

Here we see Cllr Nick with cheery candidate Gail Coleshill complaining about a missing section of yellow lines “allowing cars to park and reduce carriageway width - preventing lorries from passing” - despite the fact …er …that there are no parked cars and … er … a lorry seems to be passing!
Come on! Cheer Up Cllr Nick! Why not tell us about some of the good things and fine people in your lovely city?
October 11 UPDATE: Cllr Nick responds - and promises to cheer up!
